Jefferson Institute For Bioprocessing (JIB)
Adaptive Reuse
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
MRA converted a former laboratory building on the Spring House Innovation Park campus into the Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing (“JIB”), a state-of-the-art training facility for Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson). Jefferson partnered with Ireland’s National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training to develop this first of its kind facility in North America that trains professionals and students in the latest techniques of single-cell bioprocessing. The 42,000 square-foot-building includes 10,000 sq. ft. of simulated clean rooms, multiple training rooms and offices space, with room for expansion for future research and training programs that JIB will offer.
